Kudos for Sky-Blue

The Writer got good news yesterday. Seeing Sky-Blue Pink, her latest novel, is a finalist for the 2007 Independent Booksellers Annual Book of the Year award.

If she wins, will she get a whole bunch of money?

No, she'll get a medal, like she got last year for Finding Day's Bottom.

Maybe we can melt the medal down and sell it for kibble.

I had to laugh at Winchester. But this is really great news :) I have read this one and loved it. My review is up at YA Books Central. It'll be posted on one of my other blogs in a few weeks.

Winchester's heart is in the right place--his stomach. The Writer is very partial to this book--it is probably her very favorite because it's based on her life.

Yea! Congratulations to the Writer!

The Writer says "thanks" but she doesn't think she'll get a medal this year. She's a real pessimist.

Oooo, Ellsworth, you must be so proud of The Writer!!!!! Or are you blue 'cause you're not in that one? At least, I assume you're not. I am ashamed -- I haven't read it yet. But I will!!!! If the folks who decide the winner of this have sense and taste, I am SURE you and Winchester are going to have a medal to sell! :-)

The Writer is not holding her breath. The glass is half empty to her.

Can I just add that I just read Finding Day's Bottom and it is wonderful. It more than deserved the IB's Annual Book of the Year Award. It should've won everything out there. I loved it so much, I even dreamt about it last night. That's the first time I've ever done that about any book. Thanks for letting me share that, Ellsworth.

The Writer has a great big lump in her throat. She says thank you for saying that.
